Sweet potato chips

Hello everyone!
Lately I am obsessed with sweet potatoes. There are so many ways you can use them and add them to your meals and most importantly they are extremely delicious. So last weekend a friend of mine came over for a nice and cozy "chatty" evening and I decided there's nothing better (and healthier) I could make than homemade sweet potato chips. They're really easy to make and actually don't take that long.
What I like most about them, is the combination of their own sweetness and the spicy salt and pepper mixture.

You'll need:
1 sweet potato
a little bit of olive oil
salt and pepper

How to:
- remove the skin of the potatoes
- slice them thinly with a mandolin
- place them on a backing sheet
- brush a little bit of olive oil on the slices and add a bit of salt and pepper
- bake them for 20 min, flipping halfway

Black 'n' white dessert glasses

Hi guys!

As you may have noticed, I haven't been really active on this blog lately and that's why: Over here in Germany we have summer break at the moment and I guess I should mention it's already coming to an end. Apparently I was away on vacation and yes I have to admit, those last 3 weeks weren't the healthiest ones in my life... BUT, there's no need to say that I'm totally ready to get back on track, eat healthy and workout on a regular basis again.

So, let's get to this awesome dessert I'd like to share with you! My dear sister (you can find her lovely fashion blog here) made these delish dessert glasses yesterday for the whole family and believe me they tasted heavenly. If you are interested in how to make them, just head over to her blog where she just posted the recipe.

Chocolate-strawberry cake

Hey everyone!
Have a look at this perfection of yumminess. Don't tell me your mouth isn't watering! I created this recipe of a clean chocolate-strawberry cake a while ago and today I'm going to share it with you. It looks like a regular choco cake but there are so many good ingredients in there for you! And guess what. It's non baking! Oh and by the way, it's also vegan. :)

You'll need:

  • 1 cup of walnuts
  • 8 small pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 140g strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 avocado
  • 3 tsp of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp starch
---> First, blend the walnuts, dates and the water in a nice dough. Put it in your bake pan and press it with your hands 'till it's spread all over the pan. Then, after you washed the strawberries and removed their greens, cut them into slices and place them all over the dough crust. Next we're going to make the chocolate cream. Blend the banana, the avocado, the cacao powder and the starch all together, then distribute the smooth cream over the cake. Top it with some strawberries to make it look even nicer. Put the cake into the freezer for about 1-2 hours and you're finished! Enjoy your healthy clean cake without having to regret it!

Breakfast mousse au chocolat

Guys, you have to try this! I'm not even kidding, this healthy option of the classic and loved mousse au chocolat just tastes like the real one. Aaand it is super healthy and so quick to make. If you want to eat it for breakfast just add some oatmeal (like I did) so it will fill you up more.

You'll need:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder (use more if you want it darker)
  • optional: oatmeal
---> Put all the ingredients into your blender and mix them until they're smooth. And that's basically it, I told you it would be easy :). Top your mousse with some walnuts and a little basil leave.

Hope you enjoy!

Cherry ice cream

Hi everyone!
It's finally summer here in Germany and who doesn't crave for a good old ice cream from time to time? And since we don't want to reach for all those unhealthy options you can get at every store, we're going to make our own clean cherry ice cream today! By the way, yes, I still do sometimes get an "unhealthy" ice cream just because I can't resist Ben and Jerry's... But it's just sometimes and I'm even doing something great by buying it because it's fair trade. :)

You'll need:

  • about 500g frozen cherries
  • 250g natural yogurt
  • 100g curd cheese
  • stevia
---> Put all the ingredients into your blender and mix them until they have a creamy consistency. I also topped it with natural yogurt and some chocolate sprinkles When I've made my ice cream I couldn't eat it right away, so I put it in the freezer. By the time I ate it and I made the photos it was frozen so I cut it into squares, but usually it's creamy.
Have fun recreating this recipe on a hot summer day!
